You do not need to be a National Trust member to come to the Pottery, everyone welcome.

Sessions are run on various Fridays and Saturday's each month throughout the year.

Learn in a working pottery, with experienced potters.

This Voucher is an ideal gift for someone who wants to have a go on the Potter's Wheel, but you are not sure what dates they have available in 2026. If you would like to have your voucher and letter personalised just put the name of the recipient in the comments box when ordering. 

As part of your gift pack, you will receive a letter which explains about the day and how to book, this will be sent with the leaflet in a plain white envelope in the post. If you have left it a little late, then we can email you the letter. Phew! 

The day starts at 10.30 am and we aim to finish around 4.30 pm. Six hours of pottery heaven. This course starts with Paul giving you a brief overview of making and decorating slipware pottery. This day is a great chance to have go on the Potter’s wheel in a working pottery. You will prepare your own clay and learn the techniques on the wheel to make pots. The idea is for you to have a fun and enjoyable day with access to the Barrington Court gardens to provide inspiration. Each class is a maximum of 5 people.  The price includes all materials, you will choose 5 of your pots  which will be glazed and fired for you to take home at a later date. A buffet style lunch with wine, tea or coffee is included, along with plenty of morning and afternoon refreshments.

We have six electric wheels and have a maximum of five per class so you will always have wheel to yourself for the day. Our wheels are placed so you are not in each others space.

Please note these courses are designed for beginners.
