Full Day Pottery Lesson – Our Final Year of Full
Day Classes
2027 will be the final year that we offer our much-loved Full Day Pottery Lessons at Barrington Pottery.
After many years of welcoming people into our working
pottery, sharing our skills and watching complete beginners discover the joy of
making pots on the wheel, we have made the decision to bring our full-day
lessons to a close.
To make 2027 extra special, we are offering just 50
places for our final year of Full Day Pottery Lessons. Once these places
have gone, there will be no more full-day lessons available.
Our Full Day Pottery Lesson is designed especially for
beginners, so no previous experience is needed. You will spend the day
learning in our working pottery, surrounded by handmade pots, clay and the
tools of the trade.
The day begins at 10.30am and finishes at around
4.30pm, giving you approximately six hours to enjoy the wonderful world
of pottery.
Paul will begin with an introduction to making and
decorating traditional slipware pottery, before you get the chance to
prepare your own clay and have a go on the potter’s wheel.
With guidance throughout the day, you’ll learn the
basic techniques needed to throw your own pots. There is no pressure to produce
perfect pottery – the aim is simply to enjoy yourself, learn something new and
experience the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
Your pots, made by you
During the day you can make a selection of pots on the
wheel. At the end of the lesson, you will choose five of your favourite pieces, which we will glaze and fire for
you.
Your finished pots will then be ready for you to collect
at a later date – a lasting reminder of your day at Barrington Pottery.
The Class is limited to just five people, and
with six electric wheels in the pottery, everyone has their own wheel and
plenty of space to work comfortably.
A very special day
We are based in the grounds of the beautiful Barrington
Court, providing plenty of inspiration and the opportunity to take a break and
explore.
A buffet-style lunch, including wine, tea or
coffee, is included, along with morning and afternoon refreshments.
Whether you’re buying the lesson as a special gift or
treating yourself, it’s a wonderful opportunity to step away from everyday life
and spend a day learning, creating and having fun.

2027 is your last opportunity to experience one of
our Full Day Pottery Lessons.
We have only 50 places available throughout 2027,
and once they have been booked, we won’t be adding any more.
If you’ve always fancied having a go on the potters wheel, now is the time. Come and spend a memorable day with us at Barrington Pottery, learn from experienced potters and take five pieces that you made yourself.
Sessions are run on various Fridays and Saturday's each month throughout the year.

This Voucher is an ideal gift for someone who wants to have a go on the Potter's Wheel, but are not sure what dates they have available in 2027. If you would like to have your voucher/letter personalised, put the name of the recipient in the comments box when ordering. You will receive a letter which explains about the day and how to book, this will be sent with a leaflet in a plain white envelope in the post. If you have left it a little late, then we can email you the letter. Phew!
